Tourist VISA

Tourist Visas may be granted to foreign citizens travelling to Brazil as tourists, or for visiting purposes only, with no intention to either migrate to Brazil or to perform some form of remunerated activity.

Tourist visas can also be granted to non-remunerated participants of congresses, conference and seminars, artistic or sporting events, where no entrance fees are charged.

Trinbagonians Visa Waiver – Due to an agreement held between Brazil and Trinidad and Tobago, Trinbagonians do not need a visa to visit Brazil for Tourist Purposes.

The Consular Section is authorized to process applications for Tourist Visas independently of the place of residence of the applicant, provided that he or she submits the application personally, to the Consular office.

Tourist visas can be processed by mail, by travel agents, and by third parties if the applicant resides within the jurisdiction of the Consular Section of the Embassy of Brazil.

In certain cases Tourist Visas may depend on consultation with the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations. Therefore, early application is advisable.

In addition to the General Requirements above, applicants for Tourist Visas are required to present:

  1. a round-trip ticket;

  2. proof of financial resources compatible with the intended travel; and

  3. whenever deemed necessary by the Consular Authority, an interview may be scheduled and additional documents may be requested.
